Privacy Policy
Miamelo — last updated: September 25, 2026
The essentials in five points
- No account, no sign-up. We do not know who you are.
- Your data lives on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your private iCloud space — never on a Miamelo server.
- For analyses, your meal photos and a summary of your health profile are sent to an AI provider (Google, Gemini models) only when you ask for an analysis.
- No ads, no trackers, no selling of data. Ever. Only two technical service providers: the AI provider, and RevenueCat for your subscription.
- To erase everything: delete the app and its iCloud backup. That's all.
1. Who is responsible?
Miamelo is published by Abdelbassit Zeroual. For any question about your data: [email protected].
2. What data, and where is it?
| Data | Where it is stored |
|---|---|
| Profile (first name, age, sex, height, weight, medical conditions, diets, goals) | Your iPhone + your private iCloud |
| Meals, meal photos, symptoms, hydration, pantry | Your iPhone + your private iCloud |
| Apple Health data read (steps, active energy, basal energy, sleep, cycle tracking, weight, body fat and lean body mass) | Stays in Apple Health; the app reads a summary of it on your iPhone |
| Miamelo+ subscription | Billed by Apple (App Store) and checked through RevenueCat, which receives a random installation identifier and the status of your subscription — never your identity or your payment method |
| Analysis usage counters | On our relay, tied to a random device or subscriber identifier — 45 days at most, then erased automatically |
Miamelo has no user database. The iCloud backup uses the private CloudKit database of your Apple account: it is encrypted by Apple and technically out of reach of Miamelo's publisher.
3. Artificial intelligence analyses
The heart of Miamelo is nutrition analysis by AI. When you ask for an analysis (plate photo, label, recipe, weekly review, anti-waste ideas), the following is sent:
- the photo concerned (reduced in resolution) or the text you entered;
- a summary of your profile, sent only if you agreed to share your health data, and limited to what you filled in: sex, age, height, weight and BMI, conditions you ticked, contraception, diets, notes you wrote, calorie target and, where relevant, the phase of your cycle — to personalise the analysis;
- for the weekly review only: your log for the week (meals, symptoms noted, hydration, sleep and cycle phase) — the raw material for spotting what keeps coming back.
These transfers only happen with your explicit consent, given at setup or in Settings → Privacy, and can be withdrawn there at any time. Without consent, analyses work without personalisation and the AI weekly review is unavailable.
This traffic goes through our technical relay (Cloudflare Workers). It keeps neither your photos nor the content of your analyses: it forwards the request to the AI provider and sends the answer back to you. For the sole purpose of running the service, it does keep usage and spending counters tied to a random device or subscriber identifier: they cap the number of analyses and protect the service from abuse. They expire on their own after 45 days at most and contain no health data.
The AI provider is Google (Gemini models, through the paid tier of the Gemini API), for photo analysis as well as texts and the weekly review. It processes these requests as a technical subprocessor: data submitted through its API is not used to train its models and is only kept temporarily for security purposes. No analysis happens without an explicit action from you (taking a photo, tapping "Analyze"…).
4. Apple Health — a specific commitment
With your permission, Miamelo reads from Apple Health: steps, active energy and basal energy, sleep, cycle tracking, and your weigh-ins (weight, body fat, lean body mass). This data is used only to calculate your energy expenditure and your daily score, to spare you re-entering your weigh-ins, and to personalise your analyses. When you ask for an AI analysis, the estimated phase of your cycle may be included in the summary sent (see section 3) — this is what allows, for example, advice adapted to the luteal phase.
Also with your permission, Miamelo writes to Apple Health what you log: the calories and macronutrients of your meals, water and drinks, and the start of your period. This keeps Health and the other apps you use up to date. Writing is optional and can be turned off in Settings → Privacy.
In line with Apple's rules: your Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, never passed to third parties for any purpose other than the analysis you ask for. You can remove access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
5. Open Food Facts
When you scan a barcode, it is sent to the collaborative database Open Food Facts (ODbL licence) to identify the product. No personal data goes with this request.
6. Your subscription
Miamelo+ is billed by Apple. We see neither your name, nor your email, nor your payment method.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app and our relay ask RevenueCat, a service specialised in subscription management. It receives a random identifier created at installation, the status of your subscription and technical information about the device (model, iOS version). It receives no health data, no meals, no photos.
This identifier cannot be used to name you: it is tied to no account, since Miamelo offers none. It is only used to answer the question "does this installation have an active subscription?" — without it, the app could not unlock what you paid for.
7. What Miamelo does not do
- No account, no password, no email collection.
- No advertising, no advertising SDK.
- No audience analytics, no advertising tracker, no measurement of your behaviour.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data for commercial purposes.
8. Your rights and deleting your data
Your data belongs to you and stays under your direct control:
- View / correct: everything is visible and editable in the app (Profile, History…).
- Delete everything: delete the app (local data), then its backup in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Miamelo → Delete Data.
- Export: the weekly review can be exported as a PDF from the app.
To exercise any other right under the GDPR (access, objection, complaint), contact us at the address above. You can also contact the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority in your own country.
9. Minimum age
Miamelo is intended for people aged 15 and over — the age of digital consent in France. The rating shown on the App Store is 13+, a threshold calculated by Apple from the app's content; our own requirement is stricter. The app offers no tracking or advice intended for children.
10. Changes to this policy
If Miamelo evolves (for example with community features that require an account), this policy will be updated before they are switched on, and the date at the top of the page revised.
This policy is written in French; the French version is the reference in case of doubt.
